Galentine's Day with Winc Wine

Hi guys! So Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, but many single ladies and not so single ladies celebrate Galentine’s Day. What is Galentine’s Day? Well, according to MacMillan Dictionary, it is a celebration of female friendship, invented by the Parks and Recreation character Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler, which occurs every year on Feb. 13, the day before Valentine’s Day. My Winc Wine Selections

I received 4 bottles of wine and here are my selections in no particular order.

2018 Pacificana Merlot – This is a medium body wine with a slight sweetness to it. This merlot has notes of red fruit, spice, and tobacco and is ready to be paired with your favorite comfort food. Red is usually not my go to wine, but this one was really good. I would order this one again.

2018 Les Bobos Grenache – This is another medium bodied wine that blew my mind! I usually stick to what I know as far as wines are concerned. I picked this one because I wanted to try something different. The Les Bobos Grenache did not disappoint. Now, this is a dry wine, so if you prefer something sweeter, then this is not the one for you. The wine contains notes of black currant, black pepper, and dark chocolate. You can really taste the chocolate! I found that part interesting, but it’s not my cup of tea, so I would not order this one again. Not because it wasn’t good, but I do like a sweeter wine and I could taste the dark chocolate. I’m a milk chocolate type of girl.

2018 Sauvetage Rosé – Rosé all day! OK, seriously, I think the Sauvetage Rosé was one of my fav selections. The Sauvetage is the dry not dry wine. What I mean is, it had the perfect amount of sweetness with notes of orange zest, peach ring and strawberry. I would order this one again, definitely.

2017 Pacificana Zinfandel – This is a full bodied wine that is slightly sweet. I loved it. I love it so much that I drank it all before I could photograph it. lol Winc suggest to pair it with burgers, pizza or ribs. All of my favorites.

Galentine’s Day Set Up

Set up was a breeze. I think the hardest part was actually deciding on which wines to select! We paid our local Dollar Tree a visit and picked up the silver bowls, trays and a box of assorted chocolates. Then we headed to the supermarket and got a cheese and meats platter, some crackers and some fruit. Everything else we had on hand. The table and chairs were used when we went to Diner En Blanc 2018 as well as the flowers. Then we threw a red table cloth on the table for the perfect pop of color. Took our set up on the golf course behind where I live and had the best afternoon eating and drinking yummy wine. Use whatever you have on hand to set up your own Galentine’s Celebration.
