Hi Guys! Today I want to share this 1940’s vintage blouse I recently made. I am so in love with the way this blouse came out that I think I’ll be trying a few of the other views included in this pattern. I’ll be doing a review on this pattern so let’s get right into it.
Simplicity 8593
Pattern Description:
Simplicity Pattern 8593 Misses’ Vintage Poncho Blouses
Pattern Sizing:
S-M-L – I made a size large based on my body measurements.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
My blouse looks exacty like the pattern envelope.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions are very easy to follow. Make sure you transfer all of the markings and follow the pattern instructions. I used heat eraseable pens and mistakently ironed out my markings and had some issues. Once marked them again, I was fine.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I made View E becausse I loved the ruffle detail at the sleeves and the hem of the blouse.
Fabric Used:
The main fabric used is this Designer Deadstock Crosshatch Yarn Dyed Chambray Woven from LA Finch Fabrics that they gifted me. For the ruffles I used a white eyelet fabric I purchased at a local fabric store.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I didn’t make any changes to the pattern at all.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I would definetely make this pattern again. As I mentioned, I like the other views included in the pattern and would like to make them as well.
Conclusion:
I love the way my blouse came out. I felt like my finished garment does not look vintage at all, but it does have a classic feel to it, which I love. I paired my bloue with denim slacks and demin wedged heels and I couldn’t forget the peals.
This is too cute! I’ve been contemplating this part too. Nice!
Thank you Adria! Make it. I think you’ll like it.
