Today I’m spilling ALL the tea on how to get that brand partnership you’ve been dreaming of. I recently attended the 1st meet up for the South Florida Bloggers since the pandemic and we had such a great time. The day was perfect and the event was held at The Doral Yard in Doral, FL. The topic of discussion was what hotels and tourism brands are looking for when it comes to influencer partnerships in 2021 and beyond. I’m so glad I had my notebook because I took a lot of notes! I’ll be sharing 3 tips I learned on how to get that brand partnership you’ve been dreaming of.
The panelist were Mitchell Nover (@mnover81) from Four Seasons Resort Nevis and Luz Castillo (@luzka__) from PR agency FINN Partners who’s worked with Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, Jamaica Tourist Board, Seatrade Cruise, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Visit Panama and more. The panelist dropped some serious gems that I feel can help you better understand what brands are looking for in influencers. These tips do not only apply to the travel industry. You can apply these tips to any industry.
Tips o3 Tips on How to Get That Brand Partnership You’ve Been Dream Of
Tip #1
Content is KING, not the number of followers. Translation: You don’t need 10K followers to get that brand partnerships. Your content must align with the brand you are trying to work with. Find out what they are looking for. Look at what the brand is creating and see if there is a gap in what they need. Make sure you do your homework.
Tip #2
Put yourself out there. When asked if influencers should reach out to brands they want to work with, the answer was a resounding YES from both Mitch and Luz. You can’t assume a brand is going to just notice you out in the interwebs. It doesn’t cost you anything to put yourself out there. Shoot your shot!
Tip #3
Find out what the brand’s guidelines are and under promise and always over deliver. Try to always go above and beyond. This will make you stand out from the rest.
I really learned at lot at this event and it was great to hear these tips first hand from people who work in the industry. A few other tips that they mentioned were:
- Be specific in your ask.
- Be upfront, open and honest in what you can deliver.
- Send an email introducing yourself and include a media kit.
After the panel was complete, the event was closed out by @visiondharma who lead us in a meditation to help set our intentions during our meet up. Besides the food and drinks, this was my favorite part of the event. Really helped me in focusing on all the things I had just learned and how to shoot my shot.
Once the meditation was complete, we got to eat and drink! The drinks and the food were delicious. It was just an amazing time had by all and I can’t wait til the next Blogger Union meet up which is going to be on November 13th at Tinez Farms in Miami. We are going to be talking about Tips for Planning Holiday Content. You don’t want to miss it!! RSVP HERE.
Almost forgot to mention my outfit. This is one of my favs I made this summer. You can get all the deets HERE.
Until Next time,
