Jumping into the Summer in my Eden Jumpsuit | Designer Stitch

Is it feeling like summertime yet?  Well, it is here, in South Florida. I’m jumping into summer in my Eden Jumpsuit! I’ve signed up to do another Designer Stitch pattern test and this one is called the Eden Jumpsuit.  This jumpsuit is so cute, roomy and comfy.  I’m in love with yet another Designer Stitch pattern!  You can read about my most popular Designer Stitch pattern tests here, here and here.

The suggested fabric for the Eden Jumpsuit are the following:

-Medium weight woven fabrics with a crisp handle.
– Linen and Linen types (ideal fabric)
– Silk and Silk types
– Satin Back Crepe or Crepe types
– Cotton and Cotton types.

This pattern is suggested to be for a VERY ADVANCED BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE SEWING LEVEL

I’ve been wanting a jumpsuit for so long.  Every time I tried one on, they never fit right.  When I started looking for fabric for this project I found this pretty rayon linen blend navy fabric on Fabric.com.  You can still find it here.  Blue is my favorite color, so it a no brainer when I found this beautiful blue.  I wasn’t sure about the feel of the fabric, so I went to Joann and found the same rayon linen blend and decided to purchase it.

I cut a size 6 for the bodice and graded at the waist and made the pants in a 7.  This fit is perfect for me. There are always some sort of first and this was my very first time making pants! The jumpsuit has an elastic waist and an optional belt tie wide enough to cover the elastic, which I like.  You also have the option of making a romper or making a pair of pants.

The Eden Jumpsuit also has optional cold shoulder sleeves.  That will be my next make.  I also purchased this fabric in a pretty coral color that would make a perfect Eden.  I love the fact that the pants are wide leg and would be flattering on any body type.

This pattern, as with all Designer Stitch patterns, has very easy to follow instructions.  I normally have a certain way I install my invisible zippers, but I decided to use the pattern instructions, and my zipper installation was perfect.  (If I do say so myself)
