Welcome to FASHION SHOW WEEK| A Look Into My 1st Fashion Show. Yes, you read that correctly. I recently participated in my first fashion show! I never really thought this was something I would be interested in doing, but I did it! I saw a post on Instagram by Amber from Mark’s Community Outreach Org. looking for models, designers and makeup artists and I thought why not? Amber was raising money for backpacks and school supplies for local children in need. I’ve previously donated to several of Amber’s fundraising efforts and I would do anything for the kids.
During this week, I’ll be sharing all the looks I made for the fashion show and at the end of the week, I’ll be sharing my models walking in the fashion show. Make sure you subscribe to my blog, because you don’t want to miss this!
Josiah’s Short Set
Model: Josiah
Social Media: @coxman_13
Shirt: Simplicity 8180 view B
Shorts: McCall’s 7379 view D
Fabric: Purchased from House of Mamiwata Dark Turquoise, Gray “Graduated Bulleye” – no longer available, but you can find similar HERE.
Denim was purchased in LA Fashion District.
Construction: The main fabric used was a dark denim fabric and I used the ankara print for the collar, pockets and sleeves as my accent color. I made a size medium for the top and the shorts I made using a size 5 based on his body measurements.
Modifications: For the top I decided to add a zipper instead of making it as a button down as the pattern suggested. I made the pants just as suggested. The only modification is that I omitted the snaps/buttons for the pocket flap.
I hope you all enjoyed my 1st look from the fashion show. Make sure you come back tomorrow where I’ll share another look with you all.
Til Next Time,
Johanna
