Top Nine For 2020|My Most Liked IG Photos

Hi Guys! Welcome to my last blog post of 2020! Can you believe we’ve made it this far? This last post will be all about my Top Nine for 2020. These are my most liked photos on Instagram. It’s so funny how it seems this title changes every year. Last year it was the #2019BestNine, lol. It’s all the same thing really. These are all the photos you all liked the most on Instagram. I love this time of year because it shows me what you guys really like from me.

My Top Nine For 2020

There is a story behind this photo. I was contacted by someone at The Dr. Oz show wanting to know if they could feature one of my videos they found during one of their segments. It was a video I made of me batch making masks. OF COURSE I said YES! I was obviously so excited. I signed the release and sent it back. The show wasn’t set to air for another month. Then, I was contacted again stating the show format had changed and they wanted photos instead. I said, not a problem! I didn’t have not a single photo of my at my sewing machine. Let me tell you, I had an entire photoshoot at my machine that afternoon. LONG story short, I did not see my photo featured on the air date. Oh well. This is my most liked photo on IG and my caption was an inspirational post. You guys obviously liked it. You can check out that post HERE. I’m also sporting my Sewcially Distancing T-Shirt which I recently listed for purchase and you can order yours HERE.

Fashion Show Photo

I posted this image as a Throw Back Thursday on Instagram. This is a photo of me and all my models! I participated in a fashion show in the summer of 2019 and this is a group photo of us all. I’ve never done anything like this and I’m so happy I can say that I participated in a fashion show! You can check out the Instagram post HERE. I also blogged about all of the looks and did a week long series. I’ve linked all the blog posts to each other. You can start HERE.

Simplicity 9097 Tuxedo Dress

Ahh, I love this spicy little number. This dress is Simplicity 9097 by Mimi G Style. You did not see this on Soveryjo.com because this is a Minerva Make. I am part of the Miverva Maker Team and what that means is that I get to pick from their amazing fabric and make something cool with it and post it on their website! Sounds like a cool deal, right? I’ve got a few things over on their site. You can follow me on Minerva.com HERE. Be sure to follow me and you can find other amazing sewist from around the world! You can find my IG post HERE. PS, I’m looking so sassy in this photo because I finally figured out how to make a good button hole!

Bernice Reversible Bathingsuit

This summer I reached 3000 followers on Instagram and I decided that to celebrate I would host a giveaway and giveaway 3 different swimsuit patterns from different indie pattern designers. I have never made a swimsuit before and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do so. This is the Bernice Reversible Halter One Piece Swimsuit from Siren Patterns out of Puerto Rico. I LOVE THIS SWIMSUIT!!! First of all, I swear this is not a thirst trap photo. lol I feel so sexy and confident in it. I don’t know what possessed me to post photos of me in swimwear on the internet, but I did and ya’ll loved it! You can read all about it HERE and check out the IG post HERE.

Evie One Piece Swimsuit

The Evie One Piece Swimsuit from @caramiyamaui and this was the 1st swimsuit I ever made in my life! I’m so happy I jumped in head 1st because it’s not as hard as you might think to make swimwear. This was a lot fun to make and I’m so glad I decided to do a swimwear series. You can read all the deets on my blog HERE and check out the IG post HERE.

Maxi Dress inspo post

So you guys like inspirational posts Eh? I’m sporting my Swing Maxi Dress from @beautejadore that I made for a collab I did with my friend Tiffany from @Tipstitched . You can find her at www.tipstitched.com. This post was really for me. LOL I suffer from self-doubt sometimes. There are so many things I want to do and I find myself suffering from imposter syndrome. I doubt myself and my abilities and talk myself out of doing so much. I’m actively working on that. You can check out the IG post HERE and all the details about my dress and collaboration, HERE.

Designer Stitch Sleep Story

I finally made some lounge wear because these are too sexy to call pajamas! I’m wearing the Ashley Cami Slip, Barbara Lounge Pants and the Marieke Robe. I made these over the summer and I totally love each piece. I think my fav is the robe because you can wear it with your PJs or throw it on with soem jeans and heels and go. You can read all the deets on my blog post HERE and this is the IG post HERE.

Blue Sequins and matching mask

I love this photo so much. It’s the right amount of extra if you ask me. So, here we are thrown into an entire world pandemic and we’re on lockdown. Like most sewist around the world, I started making masks. Although, masks are very necessary, they are not the sexiest thing to make if we’re being honest. Here I am bored in the house with masks coming out the ying yang. I decided I was going to make a matching mask to my blue sequins dress and make a quick headband and snap some photos. I made pretend like I was going on a Target run. lol You can check out the post HERE. I also have a blog post on my dress HERE.

Designer Stitch Skirt and Cami top

Rounding out my Top Nine is Simplicity 9114 x Mimi G Style and my Taryn Bias Cut Skirt from Designer Stitch. I loved everything about this look. This fabric was so easy to work with and each piece was so quick to make. These are both definitely self-gratifying makes. You can check out the IG post HERE and read all the deets about my make HERE.

And that wraps up my Top Nine for 2020! What a year this has been. There was a point in time that I did struggle with everything that’s going on. I had a lot on anxiety and many dark days. I learned how to manage it and I’m glad to say I’m so much better now. You can look at all the negative things 2020 has brought us and think this was the worst year ever. I’m glad to say that I see the glass 1/2 full. This was an amazing year for me. Being home afforded me the time to spend with my family that I would have never had if it weren’t for COVID. I was able to spend a lot of time sewing and just learning in general. This will be for another post in the coming year. I’ll talk about all the courses I purchased in 2020. LOL seriously though, I’m thankful for all of the connections I’ve been able to make with you all. I thank each and every one of you.

Well, I’m signing off for now. I wish you all a very prosperous and Happy New Year and I’ll catch you all where the money resides and that’s on Mary had a little lamb.

Until next time,

Johanna
