Hi Guys! Happy Friday!! It’s that time again for another Fibre Mood Link Party. Usually the Fibre Mood Link Parties are for one day. This time the party started on the 15 and ends today, the 17th! To see all the other amazing makes by makers from all over the world, you can go HERE.
The Clemence Top
Included in this month’s Fibre Mood Sewing Magazine is the Clemence Top. As soon as I saw this pattern as an option, I knew I wanted to make it. Why, because shoulders!!! I am so in love with this simple yet so effective technique that gives this top a total 80’s vibe.
OK, let’s get to the details. So, my Clemence top is a wearable muslin I made. This is a thin knit fabric I had in my stash that I thought would be perfect to see the fit of this top. I didn’t think it would come out this good! I made a size Large and I didn’t make any modifications to this pattern at all and I think the fit is perfect.
I made this top mainly using my serger and it took me about an hour to make. Super quick. I mean, it’s your basic sweater. What I would say is that this fabric does this top no justice. Although you can see the detail in the shoulder, I feel like it needs just a little more structure. When I make this top again, I’ll be sure to use a thicker knit fabric or maybe even add interfacing to the sleeve cap. Ooohh, that’s a thought. I would also like to make it with some rib knit to give the Clemence some contrasts. There, I shared 2 different ideas for you to make your own Clemence. You can pick up yours HERE.
This top is so easy to wear. You can pair with just about anything. I choice these faux leather leggings I picked up from the GAP Factory Outlet a while ago. Cute, right?
Make sure you pick up the latest edition of the Fibre Mood Magazine!
Until Next Time,
Johanna
